He Knows You’re Coming

He Knows You’re Coming

This past weekend my husband and I took a trip to the mountains with a few of our friends. Our friends’ little girl, who is seven years old, had no clue where she was going. All she knew was that they were going away on a trip for the weekend. She had not brought a lot of toys to play with, just a few stuffed animals. So, you can imagine her surprise when she ran up the stairs to the room where she would be staying only to find that the closet had toys that the owner of the cabin had left! There she found a small cash register, which she enjoyed all weekend.

On the last morning of our trip, I woke early to have a little quiet time with the Lord before our busy day started. As I prayed and thought back over the weekend, I remembered our friends’ little girl and how excited she was to arrive at a cabin she had no clue she was coming to and find a closet full of toys. In the stillness of that moment, I felt God whisper, “That’s what I do for you, also Tabatha. I always have all that you need, prepared and waiting just for you, just for that moment.”

That may not touch you as it did me because you see, for a while, I have been worried about family problems, finances, and to be honest, I could go on and on over the things that I’ve found myself worrying over. But at that moment, in His presence, my mind recalled an old familiar song, “Consider the Lilies.” So I looked up the scripture that went along with that song which is Luke 12:22-31 – “And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls? And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit? If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least, why take ye thought for the rest? Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothe the grass, which is to day in the field, and to morrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith? And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind. For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Now that, my friends brought so much peace to this sometimes very weary soul!

Sometimes it may get confusing as to where He is leading us. We may often worry that our needs may not be met. But can I offer a friendly reminder today? Remember that we serve a Master that prepares our way and makes ready everything we need upon our arrival. All we have to do, like my friends’ daughter, is trust our Father to get us there safely.

So, again He has reminded me of whose I am. I am His. Therefore, I don’t have to worry about tomorrow, all I have to do is seek and trust Him.

Lord, I praise You for Your love and Your guidance. Help me to trust You more.
