Being Loved Back to Life
Recently, my son and his wife went to a local animal shelter looking for a new addition to their family. They noticed a white and gray cat around nine months old. No one seemed to want this cat because he had trouble seeing out of his right eye. Once treated, he spent a long time in a glass box, with the only contact being the workers. He broke my daughter-in-law’s heart, so for the asking price of five dollars, they purchased him. Our newest addition to the family is now Owen.
As they sent pictures and videos, I remembered a time when I, too, was damaged and felt unwanted. A time when I had lost all faith in people and to trust someone was out of the question.
It was during this time I kept hearing a voice from my past. It was asking me to place my life into His hands again. Could I trust someone with my very life? Was I capable of that type of trust? He came looking for me and was relentless in His pursuit of me. He purchased me, bandaged my wounds, and loved me back to life. He showed me, love, unlike I had never known before.
This man’s name is Jesus. He took a once unwanted, damaged, bruised, and scared girl and forever changed her life! So Owen, welcome to our family. Thank you for the reminder of what Jesus came and done in my life. I know in this family, you will be loved back to life!
You know, Jesus is looking for you too. If you’re bruised and battered, and life seems hopeless whisper His name. There is much power in the name of Jesus! Tell Him you want to trust Him and let Him love you back to life too.
